Happy Holidays - See You Next Year

Happy holidays to everyone. No matter what tradition you celebrate this time of year, remember that the message is the same.

I'll be taking the rest of the year off and will be back up blogging full steam mid January. I'll be busy in the meantime working via NC and getting ready for my wedding January 7th.

Till then, have a happy new year!

The Vomit Streak Ends

Last night history was made at approximately 12:32am. At that time, I braced one hand upon the wall and the other gripping the tub and unleashed the fury from within. That fury was Bear Creek soup and a crunchy peanut butter sandwich. Now, I know without a shadow of a doubt it was the soup that did me in. The sandwich was my attempt to make my stomach feel better. Apparently that did not work. It is safe to say I'll never have that kind of soup again. Hell, I may never have soup again.

So, just like Seinfeld, the streak came to an end. I tell you, vomiting sucks. It is a great abdominal workout though. My abs are still killing me. The worst part about throwing up is the dehydration that comes with it. Luckily I was able to get some gatorade today and keep it down. But your entire body is sore, your joints are tight, and you have one hell of a headache. I felt like I was hungover. I also didn't get any sleep last night. I was literally waking up every 15 minutes and was having insane dreams.

I finally got something to eat tonight, having gone 26 hours without eating. It's staying down, which is a good sign. My body is also recovering. I know feel like I only drank a six pack instead of a case.

But maybe all of this wasn't caused by food poisoning. Maybe it was just an after effect of watching the movie version of Bewitched. I love Will Ferrell, and Nicole Kidman is hot, but I'd rather vomit again that sit through that shitastic movie.

It's official - I'm an Old Man

Finally broke down and went to the eye doctor and came away with a lighter wallet and glasses. I knew my sight wasn't perfect anymore, but man what a humbling experience. After being pretty much the only one in my close family sans glasses, I finally caved in.

Thankfully, I have great insurance and there was a Lenscrafters coupon for $75 off. I actually got out of the place without needing a hug.

Now, if I can just figure out what the hell astigmatism is and if laser surgery can get rid of it.

Big Yellow Box Birthday Alice Shaffer

Happy birtday to my sister, Alice Shaffer. Alice is a professional nanny in Washington DC. She also is involved with several nanny organizations. Alice also sells Big Yellow Box, which are crafts and activities for children from Crayola. If you live in the Washington DC and northern Virginia area and have an interest in Big Yellow Box by Crayola, go visit her website. You will find contact information as well as many of the Big Yellow Box products.

I don't have kids (at least that I am claiming) but Big Yellow Box has a bunch of really cool items that kids will enjoy. The best part is that they are arts and crafts that can take up some time during the day to boost creativity in your children and get them away from the television! They might even allow you to get a few minutes by yourself! So, do your kids and yourself a favor and check out Big Yellow Box.

Happy Birthday Alice!
